Been a while, been hectic here at AG but we’re back on track again and more new work should be posted soon.
Hey world, Az is actually feeling a little under the weather, he has an eye infection. So I Kiki am your host today. It didn’t help Az that he had to wake up to this picture(above) with his eyes and all, but he wanted me to share it with you guys so check it out, if you’ve ever had to wake up to a morning glow over your bathroom window.
The Line art of Ran’gou(kirin) above is developed from my liking of dragons and Kirin is translated chinese dragon, the feel was to have a surreal mystery forest type theme so hence the sketch…with no a damn thing in for a backdrop, total mystery or what.
well the line art gave me the gist of what i wanted and here’s a completed version of what i wanted. I know its definitely mysterious because…well because have you ever seen leaves like that. -_-
More art coming soon to quench your thirsts and hunger and soon to begin our pick n prize.
5q and Another chance to meet a New Artist Tunde Jaji as well as an animator(bonus) to discuss his recent piece of art with us. Very lucky to have him on board as he has a busy schedule.
The art piece we’ll be discussing below is called Grimmjow Final
Artist/Animator Tunde Jaji(TJ) – Art Piece: Final Grimmjow
Az – Hey, how are you doing?
TJ – I’m good thank you
Az – Great, I’ve gotten a look at the piece you chose and i gotta say i’m loving it right, but before we get to that as a creative person to another i gotta ask, tell me about you, what drives you?
Tj – The thing that drives me the most is seeing other talented artist, as im sure you know there are many styles out there and it just excites me thinking about it even now.
Az – ah so you’re motivated, when you see the different skill sets of others, its actually one of the best form of motivation/drive because its like you see a standard and you wanna aim for it or surpas i like that.
Az – which takes me unto my next question, I understand that this is one of your most recent piece and I was just wondering did you pick it because its new fresh and out there or is there simply a deeper reason to why this particular piece?
Tj – Absolutely, i felt that in the creation of this illustration i developed more then i expected but then that just came down to luck as when i paint i try to leave room for improvisation and luck really ha ha.
Az – Ha ha, see that is infact something i’ve never heard before in this field, and i would love it if you could actually tell me a little more about this Luck drawing and how it works.
Tj – Well being quite a young and insecure artist i do loads of artist studies ( drawing work i like) and i try to take something from each study i do and hopefully if i continue to do so ill develop at a good speed, what you see is only my development from all the amazing artist i have studied to date.
Az – Ah so when it all comes together, even though its pure dedication, to various studies..you’ve got that element of luck just kinda like wishing it all comes together, that’s intriguing.
Az – That takes me a little to my fourth question, since i’ve been kinda wondering now. The piece itselfis very vibrant and its loud with colors what was the influece behind it?
Tj – Thats a really hard question to answer as i love all styles but my influences come from some of my old university friends and the tones of amazing Deviant artist i have been lucky enough to gaze my eyes on.
Az – I see, I’ve seen a couples of those too, the deviants and i think a lotta the ones that amazes me are actually the ones that are very rich in color like i mean they’ve used every posible color on the earth to achieve the goal and some of them still stuns me every time i see it like is that even possible.
Az – ok my final question to you is, oh and i ask every creative person i meet this. What is most important to you, the idea of the painting itself or the execution?
Tj – For me its both as i already said i try to leave room for luck and improvisation and in doing so my brain constantly try to think of an idea to bring out a dark area without using dark colours or what will happen if i change the hue and contrast, most of the ideas i had when i was illustrating this piece came from the execution.
Az – Ah so the ideal trial and tweak as we call it at AGS.
Well its been a pleasure, i’m afraid thats’ all we have time for and again it’s an amazing piece of work and from recent discussion its come to my understanding that you’re also an animator so I hope its safe to say that we may see more of your animated side in the near future.
TJ – thank you so much glad i could help and yea for sure man
[Bloop]Az – that’ was pretty cool yoyou kno wat i enjoy most about these things
[Bloop]TJ – Whats that? hope i did OK ha ha?
[Bloop]Az – it’s never about doing ok its that people never look at their work that way until asked and when they talk about it, its like they’re thinking which is good because it gives u an insight to even your own work.
[Bloop]TJ – yea i know what you mean
[Bloop]Az – And i kno sometimes i jus paint well.. beacause i can, but these days its a little different i think about it.
Az – If you wanna see how Tj( i feel like we best buddies now that i can call him that ^^) painted this particular piece, there’s a video on it(link provided below) and if you want to see more work from this amazing artist a link is also provided to the right of the blog and below this post. Don’t be lazy, check it out!
